Plymouth ASSAP

Plymouth ASSAP investigates specific locations on a regular basis. Stories and cases are discovered through word of mouth, local news reports and through established literature. Here is a list of a few of the places we've investigated, or intend to investigate:

  • Jay's Grave, Dartmoor
  • Ferry House Inn, Saltash Passage
  • Reel Cinema, Plymouth
  • Boringdon Hall
  • A council house in Torpoint
  • Pennycomequick Inn, Plymouth
  • Wistman's Wood, Dartmoor

At this point it is important to emphasise that it is not Plymouth ASSAP's purpose to "prove" the existence of ghosts. The investigation and research activities are fascinating and enjoyable in themselves.

The process of investigating a location involves:

  • Interviewing witnesses / appropriate people
  • Asking them to keep a running diary in which they note anything they consider out of the ordinary
  • Researching the history and physical layout of the property / area
  • Examining local environmental factors
  • Identifying all possible "natural" causes of the phenomena

If it is deemed necessary:

  • Undertaking a planned and organised vigil
  • Debriefing the appropriate people
  • Presenting a formal report based on all our findings
